This safari is conducted in closed vehicles like Scorpios, not open jeeps, as the wild animals here are still adapting to human presence. While driving through dense forest trails, we witnessed the real essence of the jungle — where silence speaks louder than sightings.

Kalesar National Park is home to a rich variety of wildlife including leopards, elephants, sambhar deer, barking deer, nilgai, jackals, peacocks, pythons, and many more. Although our main hope was to spot an elephant or a leopard, the jungle had other plans — gifting us serene views, a glimpse of deer and wild buffalo, and a deep sense of peace.

The park management has created fire lines to control forest fires and maintains water bodies for animals, with cameras installed nearby to monitor and count wildlife. Our guide also shared insights about the increasing population of deer and elephants, and an interesting incident where a tiger from Rajaji National Park once entered Kalesar, causing concern among nearby villagers.

Beyond animals, this vlog highlights the breathtaking flora of Kalesar, including Sal, Sheesham, Sagwan (Teak), and Khair trees, reminding us that a jungle’s beauty lies not only in sightings but in its complete ecosystem.

Declared a National Park in 2003, Kalesar is named after the sacred Kaleshwar Shiva Temple, adding spiritual depth to this natural paradise.
