The Whole Enchilada Trail is considered the best trail in Moab Utah. This trail is called the whole enchilada because it combines the Alpine Burro pass ride with the Epic UPS and LPS trail systems ending with Porcupine Rim. A massive ride that is usually 27+ miles, but can be easily turned into about 40 miles. With 8000 feet of descent you might think that this ride is an effortless DH ride. Nothing could be further from the truth. This ride requires preparation in both food, water and high fitness levels.

Want to ride this? Here are things to think about...
First you have to get a shuttle to the top of the La Salle mountains in Moab. There are plenty of great shuttle services. Schedule the shuttle at least a week or 2 in advance. After getting dropped off you face a solid 750 foot vertical climb up Burro Pass. Then it's downhill rowdy loose riding with steep narrow switchbacks and beautiful river crossings. Then you hit Hazzard County which is a fun single track with flow and some chunk. Then you can choose to take the Kokopeli road to UPS (Upper Porcupine Singletrack) or you can take Jimmy Keen (which is an 8 mile wandering XC trail and unless you've done TWE before I would recommend against). Then you get to UPS which is amazing rock dirt mix with flow and chunk which drops via a CRAZY cliff pass that you can ride but it is very technical. If you skip that you can take the Notch down which is even crazier (we took the regular drop to LPS). Finally LPS which is ledges and drops and single track as you descend to Moab with gorgeous views of the Colorado River.
This is a huge ride. We had 2 flats, took a dumb trail (Jimmy Keen) and took a wrong turn and ended up riding back to the Notch. All together we were riding for 5 hours (moving time) and 7 (YES SEVEN) hours out on the trail. That included snack breaks, chatting, looking at the views and drone flying, fixing flats etc. You just don't know how big of ride this will be. Take LOTS of water and a drink mix and lots of snacks with protein and carbs and if you even have a chance of cramping, TAKE SALT PILLS!!! Even though we were well prepared I ran out of water at the end and it got hard on the road back to town. This is a 30 - 40 mile ride, depending on how things work out. We rode for 40 miles.
