David Haefele "Half of It" Skimboarding Mini Movie

David Haefele took the 2025 season off from the United Skim Tour, and put that extra time into filming a real video for the first time in five years. Huge thanks to Rob Berry ​@bobskims for filming the majority of this. Rob dedicated half a dozen sessions to shooting when the waves were really good, even though he easily could’ve been skimming himself.

Except for the Wedge clip, everything here was filmed in Santa Cruz. Even though the waves get good here, it's also not the easiest place to score skim. It takes work to track sand, watch every swell, and show up at the right cove when the swell, tide, and wind finally line up. But when it’s on, there’s nowhere else David woud rather be. David hopes this gives skimboarders a small glimpse of what it’s like in his little surf town.
