Welcome to a new season of HO slot cars and self-taught video editing. This is the story of how I used two years to build a dual adjustable power supply with lane reversing and ghost car switches, plus amp/volt/watt/watthour meter, and master lighted power switch.
Adjustable power controls the top speed of the cars. A ghost lane is just a lane with the hand controller shorted out to 100% throttle. It is difficult but not impossible to find the right combination of masking tape and voltage to get HO cars to traverse an entire circuit without crashing, but this rig will help me try.
Lane isolation will enable me to create optimal environments for each manufacturer's cars, including using an OEM or custom hand controller. AFX (120 Ohm) controllers are being shipped to Upstairs Dave Headquarters as we speak.
