As ceasefire negotiations drag on, a small U.S. infantry patrol from E Company is ordered into the Korean mountains on what is supposed to be a routine reconnaissance mission. Officially, the war is almost over. Unofficially, the battlefield does not seem to know it.
Moving through frozen ridgelines and enemy-held valleys, the soldiers encounter sniper fire, minefields, and sudden ambushes. Every hour brings rumors that peace has already been signed—yet the shooting never stops.
The men begin to question the meaning of their mission:
Why risk lives for ground that may be abandoned tomorrow?
Why are orders still being given when the war is supposedly ending?
As casualties mount, the patrol pushes forward, trapped between military duty and the growing realization that the war is refusing to let go of its final victims. When the ceasefire is finally announced, it arrives not as relief, but as bitter irony—because for some of the men, the war ended too late.
