I received a comment informing me that using WD-40 on electronics would cause shorts, since "WD-40 is conductive". I didn't believe it but had to test it anyway. . . . .
WD-40 was primarily developed as a water dispersant (WD) for high voltage ignition systems - so it being "conductive" makes no sense at all!
In this experiment, we put it to the test! Using a multimeter and a power supply, we compare the conductivity of WD-40 to water, measuring microamps of current flow at 30V.
