This boat is a stitch-and-glue version of Phoenix III, a glued-lapstrake boat by the same designer. First Mate has three different rig options, all of which use the same mast location. In addition, she has correctly proportioned oarlocks and rowing thwart, making rowing a pleasure, and has a built-in outboard motor mount with a self-draining splash well.
