Injector Trouble? Solved – Successful Steam-Up & Photo-Op

Historic equipment is seldom free of issues even when maintained at the highest level.    • Historic & Technology  

Our 1911-steam locomotive is no exception to that rule. We had completed successfully the staybolt inspection and were gearing up to our public steam-up event, when the injector kept giving us trouble. Our trainmaster Jimmy reminded us of the most straightforward solution and all worries were gone and a spectacular event ensued until Owens Valley high winds put an end to steaming up and down the track in Independence, CA, on Sunday.
