Harman Kardon Citation Twelve Restoration

This "parts amp" was given to me and I was inspired to bring it back to life.

“The Citation 12 was Harman Kardon's first big transistorized power amplifier. It was rated at 60 Watts per channel. It was based on a design published in the RCA Solid State Handbook.”

It used "computer grade components" which guaranteed "long, trouble free life."

“There is no DC fault protection, so a big fault in the output stage might put up to plus or minus 41.5 volts right onto the loudspeaker.” -This issue was presented in a shango066 youtube video:    • Harman Kardon citation twelve power amplif...  

Weighs 30 pounds, this is because “It used separate power transformers, bridge rectifiers, and filter caps for the left and right channel. As such it was a dual-mono (block) design.”

It retailed (circa 1976) for $294.95. It was also available as a kit for builders.

“The Citation Twelve will reproduce frequencies as low as one Hz with extremely low phase shift; the 20Hz square wave is virtually the same as the generator.” “...two pairs of bipolar transistors to produce 2x 60W of clean and loud music up to 100Khz.”
