Zojila Pass or Zozila pass is a High Altitude mountain Pass which seperates Kashmir Valley from Ladakh Region.
Its considered as the Gateway to Ladakh.
Ladakh, Known as land of High Passes and zojila is one of them at an Altitude of 11500 ft above sea level.
Zozila is the most important and strategic route as most of the supplies to Ladakh region passes through this route for six months in summer as in winters this region gets totally isolated from the outer world due to snowfall and closing of Zojila pass.
Due to its strategic importance this area had seen some wars also major of those are Zojila war, when this was captured by pakistani based tribals and was recaptured by India through operation Bison.
