tips to help your holiday cactus bloom💡
Did you know there’s a Thanksgiving cactus, a Christmas cactus, and an Easter cactus?
You can tell the difference based on the leaf shape.
Mine is technically a Thanksgiving cactus. I’ve had mine for about 5 years, but my blooms don’t start to open until December. So, I call it a Christmas cactus.
Regardless of the name, they all need complete darkness for 12 hours a day.
So, don’t put them in a room with a lamp or near a window that has an outdoor nighttime light source.
Don’t overwater. If you have success growing fiddle leaf figs, you are the perfect candidate for a holiday cactus.
Christmas cactus also like cool temps. So, find a room in your home with a chilly window that gets a ton of bright indirect light.
If you are looking to add one of these to your plant collection, Costco has some and they are a great size.
These make a great hostess gift too.
