Commentary from ZUN, on the original theme, with the release of the doujin album:

This is the original version of "Eternal Shrine Maiden" from Highly Responsive to Prayers.

I released the PMD data file to the public as a test. This isn't exclusive to this theme in particular, but the arrangement is quite a big departure from the previous take on the song, so some people might prefer the original. (sweat)

That said, I like the arrangement more. (^^;;

This is the starting point of my music. As I wrote in Mystic Square's comments, this song's main melody made a huge impact on me back then. Even now, I still catch myself playing it when I let my mind wander.

Note: While it's called the original, this is the PMD arrangement.
