Much of this message reads like a sermon to preachers. Spurgeon makes the point emphatically that Paul could have used his vast understanding and intellectual powers to impress the Corinthians. Instead he focused on one theme; “Jesus Christ and Him crucified”. As the point of sunlight formed by a magnifying glass, Paul sought, by this one grand subject, to burn away unbelief by the power of God!
