Welcome to Only Vans! I’m Trevor, lead Sprinter Tech (@OnlyVansMB). In this video, I’m showing how to remove, clean and install the EGR valve in the Mercedes OM642 3.0L V6 Diesel in 906 and 907 Sprinters. Cleaning the EGR valve by soaking it in a Caustic Soda solution. (Caution Caustic Soda is corrosive and requires proper PPE and safe handling to avoid injury. it also breaks down thin aluminum but doesn't harm thick aluminum like the EGR valve) be sure to only use soft Nylon type brushes as metal/wire brushes can damage the EGR valve. Use in well ventilated area and don't breath in the fumes.
In the video I state the EGR bolts and security T30’s get torqued to 12nm but the correct torque spec is 9nm though it won’t cause any issues want to share correct factory specs
