You arrive in Rockport City with your prized car, the BMW M3 GTR, already known in the illegal street racing scene. You quickly gain attention by challenging top racers.
You meet Mia Townsend, who introduces you to the underground racing world. At the same time, your arrival provokes Clarence “Razor” Callahan, the top racer on the Blacklist. Razor challenges you, but before the race, he secretly sabotages your BMW by tampering with its engine.
During the race, despite your driving skill, the damaged car fails and Razor wins. He steals your BMW, claims it as his own, and uses it to establish dominance as the new Blacklist leader.
Immediately after this, the police, led by Cross, raid the area. You are arrested for street racing, while Razor escapes with your car. Since this is your first major offense in Rockport, your car is impounded and you are released with nothing.
Mia helps you get a basic starter car and pushes you to climb the Blacklist rankings one by one, with the final goal of defeating Razor and reclaiming your stolen BMW.
