YES - I DID IT !! How I conquered the UTS 50K !! (by UTMB)

Unfortunately, my camera was stolen from the Hostel I stayed at (so, very sadly - ALL 4-hours of footage has been lost). In any case - here are some of my thoughts and reflections.
This race, the UTS 50K by UTMB World Series, is known for its challenging terrain and stunning scenery. Here are some general tips and my own perception of the race, that might be helpful or useful if you decide to take part one day …. enjoy!
1. *Training*: Make sure you have trained well for the race, including long runs, lots of HILLS & elevation on challenging terrain to prepare your body for the rugged mountains of Snowdonia.
2. *Kit*: Ensure you have all the necessary gear for the race, including proper trail running shoes, hydration pack, weather-appropriate clothing, headlamp (if needed), and any other required gear specified by the race organisers.
3. *Food and Nutrition*: Plan your nutrition strategy for the race, including carrying enough food and hydration to sustain you throughout the 50km distance. Consider energy gels, bars, salt tablets, and other supplements to keep your energy levels up.
4. *Course Knowledge*: Really important - familiarise yourself with the race course, including elevation gain, aid station locations, and any technical sections that may require special attention.
5. Safety is key - pay attention to weather conditions, stay hydrated, and listen to your body to prevent injuries or overexertion.
6. *Post-Race Recovery*: After the race, make sure to properly cool down, rehydrate, and refuel your body. Consider wearing compression gear and engaging in light stretching to aid in recovery.
