Anemia is a decrease in the total amount of red blood cells (RBCs) or hemoglobin in the blood. Anemia is caused by either a decrease in the production of RBCs or hemoglobin or loss of Blood or the destruction of RBCs.
Iron deficiency anemia, vitamin deficiency anemia, Anemia of inflammation, Aplastic anemia, Anemias associated with bone marrow disease, Hemolytic anemias, Sickle cell anemia, Thalassemia, etc are some major types.
