Go back into your personal history and recall when you HAD to be somebody else other than yourself in order to receive love and validation. A lot of times, people pleasing can be tied back into a childhood experience(s) of parent pleasing. The reason you are a people pleaser could be because you were conditioned to believe that in order to receive love from someone else that was important to you, you had to compromise or put yourself second. This conditioned notion becomes engrained in the subconscious mind as a way of being and reflects on how you treat yourself and others in your life.

Something as simple as saying yes to your partner for a place to eat, and the entire time you're knowing in your mind that you would've rather said no is an example of people pleasing. To really become aware of and identify people pleasing within yourself, you have to go back in your timeline to the first time you decided that you needed to say no to yourself and yes to someone else in order to receive love. Once you are able to do so, what helps is sending unconditional love to that image of yourself that you remember and allowing yourself to, in a way, heal and send love to that version of you. Once you realize and become aware of those attributes within, you'll notice that you'll start developing a new energy.
