Demonstration of a clay hand-building technique using flat coils rather than round ones.
The video shows a step by step approach (including disasters!) of the making of an abstract figurative piece, with the aim of adding an expressive form through manipulation of the clay.
The clay used is a heavy grog stoneware, fired to 1000 C then glazed using Spectrum Delft Blue cone 5 glaze 1147.
