Code2College - Outpacing the Diversity Gap in STEM | Grow with Google

When Samaria Phillips took computer science classes at her high school, she was one of the only women of color, and that was discouraging. But then she joined Code2College in Austin and attended a number of their workshops and events where she met many inspirational tech professionals who looked like her, and even landed a technical internship. Now she’s studying computer science at the University of North Texas. With the support of Google and corporate volunteers, Code2College has expanded to reach thousands of students like Samaria across the country.
