TEAM 4 Kids now has Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) certified therapists ranging from Level A to Level C!
Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) is used in physical and occupational therapy to treat children with motor delays by improving automatic postural responses. The focus of these techniques is to promote progress towards developmental milestones!
DMI provokes a specified active motor response from the child in response to defined dynamic exercises. Neuroplasticity helps the brain reorganize movement to help elicit motor milestones.
The benefits of using DMI as a therapy technique include promoting developmental milestones, posture, stretching of muscles, sensory input, and overall development to achieve functional independence and movement! DMI can help children work on sitting, rolling, creeping standing, and walking by building the strength to perform these movements.
DMI can help any child - with or without a diagnosis. Children diagnosed with any type of motor delay such as Down syndrome, Cerebral palsy, low tone, torticollis, genetic disorders, and global developmental delay may benefit from DMI therapy.
If you are interested in DMI techniques for your child or have been searching for DMI-certified practitioners, please contact TEAM 4 Kids!
