Gear Review :: ZPacks Arc Haul :: Long White Gypsy

If you're looking for an ultralight backpack for multi-day hikes or thru-hikes, then you can't get much better than the Arc Series by ZPacks.

For my upcoming thru-hike of the Te Araroa trail in New Zealand, I knew I needed something that, not only was capable of safely and comfortably carrying the gear I will need for my 3,000km / 1,800mi stroll, but also was tough and heavy duty enough for the rough New Zealand environment.

Getting this pack to New Zealand was made much easier by the fact that I was actually in the USA when I ordered the pack. Unfortunately, because most of the ZPacks gear is on the pricey side, it qualifies for extra customs & import duty fees (approx. NZD$120) upon reaching NZ by regular post (you can find the calculator here: https://www.customs.govt.nz/personal/....

Because it's so new, I still haven't had a really good opportunity to use the pack on-trail, but I will keep you posted on its performance over the coming summer season.
