Wrestling Bios Presents - The Life and Career of George "The Animal" Steele.
George "The Animal" Steele was one of the first true professional wrestling villians. With his keen appetite for turnbuckle pads and his signature green tongue, George Steele was a man to be feared. As the years went on, WWE audiences grew to love George, particularly as he tried to gain the affections of Miss Elizabeth while feuding with The Macho Man Randy Savage.
Real name Willaim "Jim" Myers, George Steele tried initially to keep his wrestling career a secret. Jim Myers worked as a school teacher and coach, but when money got tight, he decided to take a part time job in wrestling. After Bruno Sammartino announced he would like to work with "The Student" (Myers character at the time), "The Animal" character was created and George Steele found worldwide fame as wrestler in the New York territory. George's work in the wrestling ring earned him a WWE Hall of Fame induction in 1995.
