Many players use the natural, harmonic, or melodic minor scales to solo over the i minor chord in a minor 2 5 1. I recommend learning some licks from your favorite players first, so you get a feel for how this sounds and works.

This track is for guitarists and other concert key instruments (including singers) who want to master the minor triad by applying jazz licks or just getting the scales under your fingers and in your ears. It's also great for working on chord inversions!

If you are studying jazz and you find yourself getting distracted when you practice, or you have limited time to practice, these jams are for you! Each track gives you about 2 min of time on each key, so you get a decent review of the scales and chord tones in a short amount of time. No fuss, no muss, just hit play and get the work done. :)

Susan Palmer teaches jazz, blues, and rock guitar styles via webcam.
