Sheikh Mohammad Ayyub Asif is a British-born reciter known for his soulful tilāwah and mastery of maqāmāt. He began reciting at age 3; his first teachers were his mother and his grandfather Sheikh Mohammad Karmoun bin Ṭālib. He later pursued advanced Qur’anic studies in Egypt (Al-Azhar) and has won first place in several international Qur’an competitions representing Great Britain. Today he performs globally and teaches Qur’an and maqāmāt.
