The NYT crossword is a great metaphor for life.
My wife and I have started to do the puzzle every night together- and there are times where we get through the first 10-15 (sometimes even 20) clues before we get the first answer. But once we get that answer, it gives us context for other clues.
And the more answers we get, the more the pieces start to come together. Which is exactly what it's like when we try something new in life.
So often, we don't get whatever we're trying on the first run. But if we keep going, we start to pick up context, learn little lessons, and all of a sudden, we start to see how different pieces fit together. And that's when learning gets fun. But we often have to muscle through some discomfort to get there...
