For a 243k miles junkyard motor, the cylinder walls look near-perfect, or at least undamaged. I do believe this motor is good, despite the awkward numbers I got during my compression test. I think my compression issues were user-error and carbon build-up in the valves.
I don't think it is worth putting new rings in it. It may be a performance engine, but it is still a Toyota engine and can be bullet proof if treated correctly. I just want to daily it.
