Hall Construction talk about working with SMT GB & Volvo for its Teeside Freeport earthworks project

Peter Haddock caught up with Robert Hall to see its impressive new Volvo Construction Equipment EC950 FL that joins its fleet of SMT GB supplied equipment onsite.

The new excavator will support the business to deliver the huge task of preparing the ground for a brand new GE Renewable Energy wind turbine blade factory, at the Freeport in Teeside.

Peter and Robert talk about how the business has grown and how it has already created jobs for the former steelworkers. In fact, over 60% of its operators are retrained, locals.

They also discuss the harsh ground conditions onsite, that require ground engaging tool changes every two weeks. And how the EC950 FL has been kitted out with a specialist bucket, using Hardox Wearparts steel.

It certainly is a big site, with huge potential.
