Albany Assembly is an English Country Dance devised by Victor Skowronski in 1999. It is a proper 3 couple longways dance. .
The tune, "La Morisque", was composed by Susato in 1551. It was performed by Bare Necessities (Earl Gaddis, Mary Lea, Peter Barnes, and Jacqueline Schwab) on the album "By Request". It is used with permission of Country Dance Society, Boston Centre, Inc. https://www.cds-boston.org/ecdc/
The animation plays at 116 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance is slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color may change each time through the minor set.
(At least I think it plays at 116 counts per minute. Victor shows it as a 32 bar dance, but Bare Necessities says it is a 64 bar dance. If Bare Necessities is right then it plays at 232 counts per minute — which seems unlikely)
