The Enchantments in a Single Day? Lets Go

What happens when you miss the lottery permit for one of Washington’s most iconic backpacking routes?
You hike the entire thing in a single day — obviously. 😅
The Enchantments are known for their crystal-blue alpine lakes, jagged granite peaks, and multi-day adventures. But without an overnight permit, we took on the 22-mile loop in one massive push, from before sunrise to after sunset.
We started at 4 A.M. — fueled by trail mix, optimism, and a tiny bit of denial — and finished around 10 P.M. with sore legs, empty snack bags, and unforgettable memories.
📍 Trail: The Enchantments (via Colchuck & Snow Lakes)
Washington State’s Alpine Lakes Wilderness
Loop Distance: ~21–22 miles
Elevation Gain: ~5,000 ft
Difficulty: Strenuous (distance + elevation + rocky terrain)
Permits: Required for overnight stays (lottery-based)
Time on Trail: ~16 hours (with breaks & filming)
