Greetings All,
This is part 2 of the of the saga of the rusty, crusty #111 Model 40 Red Ryder carbine. After running the initial chrono tests to see just how the gun was running as recieved the old war horse was disassembled to take a peek at the OEM components and conduct some simple swap outs to see if any performance gains could be realized.
Once that process was complete the reciever was stripped to see just how bad the pitting was and formulate an approach on getting the gun as cleaned up as possible. Looks like quite a bit of hand filing and delicate sanding are called for.
