We set sail from Dry Tortugas National Park bound for Key West just before New Year’s Eve — but the ocean had other plans. 🌊⛈️
Our first attempt to leave Dry Tortugas turns intense as we get caught in a storm, forcing us to turn back and anchor in the harbor at night. Before trying again, we spend Christmas Day snorkeling the crystal-clear waters of Dry Tortugas, exploring one of the most remote and beautiful national parks in the United States.
On our second departure, conditions finally line up and we complete the sail to Key West, where we meet our new crew member, Karie, and kick off the next chapter of our sailing adventure just in time for New Year’s Eve.
If you love real offshore sailing, weather challenges, liveaboard life, and honest adventure — this one’s for you.
