Jaguar X-type fuel pressure regulator location & adjustment

In this video we will talk about Jaguar X-type (Ford Mondeo MK3) fuel pressure regulator location and adjustment using a thinner spring from another fuel regulator. For example, a Jaguar X-type mechanical FPR maintains the fuel pressure at the rate of about 5 bars in the rail, but sometimes due to some reasons the engine is running rich. I took an identical GM regulator set to 3.8 bars and broke it. I used its 3.8 bar spring and installed it into the X-type fuel pressure relief valve.

I upgraded the regulator previously, having cut 2 holes on the opposite sides to remove the spring through them. The same way a thinner spring can be installed into the FPR. In this video I return to the OEM variant, installing a thicker 5 bar spring instead of a thinner one.

I don't urge anybody to adjust the pressure in the common rail this way. In most cases there is no need to adjust it at all. I just want to show you my way of doing it and that it is possible to do a fuel pressure regulator adjustment like this. And it is completely your own responsibility if something goes wrong with your car.
