I’ve turned a few Podocarpus Bowls in the past. I really didn’t expect much from this wood when I started. I was hopeful that the crotch and knots would give this piece a little color. Well I was indeed pleasantly surprised. It had some beautiful lines, waves and knots. I am quite happy with the results. With a few of my recent pieces I’ve used crotch wood hoping to find interesting looking wood. It’s paid off a lot. I enjoy looking for unusual wood, as well as wood that I probably should not turn. I’m always looking for some out of the ordinary. I find them interesting and I love the surprise I get when it turns out well. I hope you like the video, and thank you for watching.
