Welcome to The Regent Hong Kong, one of my absolute favourite hotels in the city. A place where luxury meets heritage, and every detail is thoughtfully curated to create an unforgettable experience.

This iconic hotel first opened in 1979 as the Regent Hong Kong, quickly becoming a landmark of luxury hospitality. In 2001, it was rebranded as InterContinental Hong Kong, before undergoing a major transformation and reopening in 2023 as the Regent once again.

I have fond memories of this place — during the InterContinental era, I had the privilege of coming here with Chef Gary Rhodes to film his food TV program in the renowned Presidential Suite. That suite, with its breathtaking views and impeccable design, remains one of the most prestigious in Hong Kong.

Fast forward to today, the newly renovated Regent has truly elevated its luxury experience. Every corner of the hotel exudes subtle elegance, with meticulous attention to detail.

The rooms, while relatively small due to the building’s original structure, are beautifully arranged to maximize space and comfort. Thoughtful design choices ensure that every inch is utilized efficiently, making the stay both cozy and luxurious.

One of the unbeatable aspects of this hotel is its prime location and the stunning Victoria Harbour view. Even though my room wasn’t officially a Harbour View Room, I could still catch a glimpse of the harbour — a delightful bonus!

Instead of heading to the big swimming pool, I went straight to the harbour view infinity pool. For non-swimmers like me, the temperature-controlled jacuzzi was the perfect spot to relax and, of course, take some photos for social media!

The pool is open during the day and closes after sunset, adding to the exclusivity of the experience.

Back in the room, I indulged in a refreshing shower and a relaxing bath, enjoying the high-quality amenities provided.

When it comes to Mini Bar, Nespresso, Bathrobe, Slippers, and even the Notepad, Regent truly goes the extra mile to impress.

There are 9 coffee capsules with four different flavours, which change seasonally. My all-time favourite? Tokyo Lungo — but this time, I also tried Caramello, and it was absolutely delicious.

Snacks and glasses are neatly arranged in different drawers, and the hotel offers two exclusive "Bocktails" — Negroni and Sakura Martini. Next time, I’ll definitely come back to try them!

Even the water bottles are elegantly designed, with glass containers and easy pull-out metal covers — a small but thoughtful touch.

At night, the turn-down service includes Vitamin-E Hand Cream, adding a little extra pampering before bed.

Waking up the next morning, I enjoyed my morning Nespresso while admiring the Victoria Harbour — a perfect start to the day.

One of the unique offerings at Regent is the guided Art Tour, which takes guests through different corners of the hotel to discover its curated art pieces.

Some highlights include:
"Reflections of the Sea", inspired by cruise ship windows, mirroring the beauty of Victoria Harbour.
Nine trees shaped like dragons, symbolizing Kowloon, which means "Nine Dragons".
Other artworks incorporating the "Nine" concept, reinforcing the cultural significance.
A recurring circle and round motif throughout the hotel’s design.

For those interested, the in-room TV provides detailed stories behind each art piece, making the experience even more immersive.

Regent also offers complimentary movie selections, ensuring a relaxing evening in.

I personally love how the "R" logo is subtly printed everywhere in the hotel — it’s a small but charming detail that adds to the brand’s identity.

Stepping out of the hotel, I found myself at the famous Avenue of Stars, where I couldn’t resist behaving like a tourist — taking photos, enjoying the waterfront, and soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of Hong Kong.

From the bottom of my heart, I highly recommend The Regent Hong Kong for your next visit to my beloved city.

With its rich history, stunning views, impeccable service, and thoughtful details, this hotel truly embodies the essence of luxury hospitality.
