Repairing worn gemstones

In this video, i take worn, chipped gemstones that were removed from jewelry and give them a second life. I do some recutting and polishing and bring them back to presentable condition. I was able to repolish a table facet of an amethyst stone but after more careful examination of the stone i found many more scratches , abrasions . I decide i will have to do a total recut on that stone , even the pavillion was worn. I miss identified the first stone which i thought was sapphire, it is actually diopside , a viewer pointed this out to me. Sapphires have 6 or 12 rays .
