How X-Men Became X-Mid (and X-Peak for a bit)

Following the financial success of the original 2 X-Men films, but the 2 failures of The Last Stand and X-Men Origins Wolverine, FOX were quick to pivot and take a new direction with their films. This pivot at first seemed like the right direction for the film series to go, but the longer it stuck around, the more it seemed that X-Men was going from its peak back to its mediocrity again.
