Over the walls of Akko, shadows rise,
The storm of men relentless, under crimson skies.
Siege engines roar, the earth it shakes,
The last of the Crusaders, their fate awaits.
Steel meets stone, the fire rains,
Brothers in white, bound by chains.
Oils and arrows, cries of despair,
The city trembles, but they are there.
And in the heart of the fight,
A step back taken in the dying light…
Knight:
“Do not retreat, we fall!”
Grand Master Guillaume (resolute):
“I do not retreat… I am dead!”
Raise your swords, through smoke and dread,
On these walls, the fearless tread.
The gates are breached, the night devours,
Yet knights stand strong, in final hours.
Brothers fall, yet voices cry,
Non nobis, Domine… until we die.
Knight:
“Do not retreat, we fall!”
Grand Master:
“I do not retreat… I am dead!”
Echoes of courage, through walls now fled,
The oath remains, though all are bled.
The walls fall, the last knights stand,
Their oath eternal, bound to this land.
Ashes and blood, the sea it claims,
Akko has fallen, but honor remains.
Non nobis, Domine
