Flight Review from London Heathrow to Mahon, Menorca with BA on Airbus A320

This video reviews British Airways' flight from London Heathrow (LHR) to Mahon (MAH) on the Spanish island of Menorca in September 2017.

Video includes footage of the Heathrow pods, First Galleries Club lounge at Heathrow Terminal 5, take-offs, in-flight and landing .

BA expanded seasonal routes from Heathrow in 2016 and Menorca was one of the destinations added. BA also flies to Menorca from London City airport (LCY). It only takes 2 and a half hours to get to Menorca and with 4 flights a week (on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) you can easily tailor long weekends or holidays. On this occasion I opted for a long weekend: leaving on the Friday on the 4:30PM flight (BA 494) and coming back on the Monday (flight departs at 8:30PM - BA 495) so I had 3 full days to enjoy on this wonderful island.

BA is the only airline on this route, numerous legacy airlines and low cost carriers offer seasonal flights to MAH from other European airports.

The outbound flight BA 494 was operated by an Airbus 320 registration G-EUUP. This aircraft first flew in May 2003.

Good experience overall. Whenever possible I prefer to travel without a checked bag, so I can easily and quickly be in and out of the airport. Sadly and despite the negative customer feedback, BA is only offering a "Buy on Board" service in its Euro Traveller (economy cabin): no wonder BA has now a Skytrax ranking similar to EasyJet (source: Skytrax 2017 top airlines. BA #40, EasyJet #41).
