Gast (Milan, Italy) End Piece Sunglasses Unboxing

I got these sunglasses directly from Gast in Milan, Italy. Gast is an independent eyewear label founded in Milan in 2019 by creative director Mattia Gastaldo (hence the namesake). Their mission is to provide premium handcrafted eyewear directly to consumers at a price people can afford.

The End Piece is a category 3 sunglass, handcrafted using Italian acetate (Mazzucchelli). These are a a 49 eye size, 21 nose bridge and 145 temples. They have a front width of 141, and a height of 49. This pair is black with gold decor on the frame front, and a clear acetate laminate window showcasing the 18K gold core wire. The temples have a wayfarer-style flare, and the frame has sharp angles that remind me of a stealth fighter design, in typical Milano style.

The lenses are semi-flat nylon lenses with a premium anti-reflective coating on the backside, that offer 100% UVA and UVB protection. They feature gold-plated sturdy 5-barrel hinges and gold lettering on the temple inlay. The unboxing experience is quite impressive, and they offer a premium hard case with a magnetic clasp and a microfiber cleaning cloth, as well as another soft case with yet another microfiber cleaning cloth.
