Trent Austin Mini-Lesson #70: How do you know when it's THE ONE?

This video is a result of many people asking about how I knew that Coppernicus was "THE ONE" for me. While we all might think that the sound of an instrument is the end-all-be-all determining factor there's a lot about this that isn't necessarily the case. Having owned probably 1,000 horns lately I have found myself always coming back to this earlier Coppernicus model Trumpet (https://www.austincustombrass.biz/cop...) as it just feels so wonderful in every way!



For me there are many other factors that go into this decision:


1. Ease of articulation For me that's the biggest thing right off the bat. If I have issues getting a crisp, clean, easy articulation I'll pass on the horn for the most part.

2. Ergonomics of horn... if it's too light, too heavy, or doesn't "feel right" in the hand I'll pass

3. Valves and valve action: super important (they are the machine of the horn afterall).

4. Ease of flexibility on the horn (especially with bends).
