Today we prepared some biochar. We soak it in a nutrient solution. Its micropores absorb the nutrients and slowly release them to the plant. Adding prepared biochar to the soil helps the plants benefit right away. Adding unprepared charcoal can cause stunted plants for about 1-2 years (Though after that plants will greatly benefit.) Why wait? We added:
Charcoal (crushed/powdered)
Water
Urine (aged in sealed container minimum 2 weeks for nitrates to break down) - adds nitrogen and other minerals
Limestone (calcium carbonate)
Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate)
White vitriol (zinc sulfate)
Mycelium from mushrooms, forest soil
Liquified cooked starch (to provide a medium for bacterial/fungal growth)
