ABOUT THE JOB!!!
As some of you might know, my daughter has been wanting to come help me on a few jobs. So I figured I’d get her started on some leaf clean-ups. Not because they’re easier than lawn clean-ups, but because the sun isn’t baking her to death the whole time.

There’s nothing easy about strapping a 25-pound blower to your back and walking with it for 5–6 hours, but Madison has been showing a lot of potential to do this type of work with me.

A lot of times, when you’re doing a big project with someone, you can literally see their spirit die as the reality of the work sets in. But Madison maintained her excitement the entire time — even though I could tell she was starting to get tired.

Toward the end, I offered to have Rachel come pick her up, and to my surprise she said, “No Dad, I’m good. I can stay.” I told her we still had about 3–4 more hours left and gave her the option again. This time she said, “I’m pretty tired.” 😂 I know you are, baby.

Most people think cleaning up leaves is an easy task until they actually do a clean-up. On video, it always looks so easy… until you try it and it feels like the leaves multiply every minute.

One other cool moment — the homeowner came outside and tried to pay me. I could tell he wasn’t going to give up, and I didn’t want to block his blessing, so I redirected the offer to my daughter. She was absolutely blown away. I mean… imagine someone dropping $100 on you when you’re 11.

But you will not believe what she said she’s going to put the money toward.

I’m sure that even though I’ve told Madison otherwise, she’ll be reading the comments to see what everyone thinks of the job. So please help me lift her up and build her confidence — she earned it today.

She is, without a doubt, a star in the making.
