About science
(5:50) How do you navigate the contradictions within the bible against what is also in the bible and also what we know to be the truth now, definitively? For example, your sermon this morning talking about the left handed man who broke a commandment, don’t kill, but he did. I guess how do you navigate that today knowing that goes against another part of the book?

(09:10) When did science come into people’s perspectives? Can’t find a verse where Abraham or Moses was contending with science as an answer to life or death?

(11:10) With the idea of the scientific method today how do you explain miracles in that context?

(15:50) If someone says they have had a supernatural experience and someone else says that was just coincidence, how can you deal with that?

(18:15) Does the bible teach a young earth?

About Scripture

(21:35) What is true in the sense of when the gospels were written? This was time pre before modern ways of understanding scientific truth . For them true might have meant something completely different, it could have been more in the narrative sense it was true or in a literal sense it was true?

( 23:55) Jesus’ disciples were willing to die after his death and resurrection because they believed it was true. People can be seduced by cult leaders and so on, so how can we say that Jesus was the real thing and the cult leaders were not?

(27:30) So I was just thinking about in terms of scripture itself and the original writers. How can we know for sure that they didn't tweak it and that it is God inspired?

(30:50) One of the major matters supporting the contention that the Bible is a divine revelation is the subject and the matter of fulfilled prophecy. And we said the Bible has fulfilled prophecy in spades. By comparison, our understanding is that there is virtually no fulfilled prophecy in any other religious writing other than the Bible. And as I've just said, we said the Bible has fulfilled prophecy in spades. So there's a significant contrast between other religious writings. However, relating to the question, we then moved to the discussion of contradictions in the Bible and our limited understanding was that scholarship in that regard has satisfied and correctly answered the vast majority of the contradictions or apparent contradictions. But it may be that there are still a very small number of contradictions that scholarship has not fully resolved. That's the question.

(37:15) If you know the Bible if it's true like it's true, so it's been around for a long time, there's been martyrs and such, but a point sort of there's other also ancient religions that are still around with lots and lots of follower, so how is the Bible the truth over above all the others who think that theirs is the truth?
