Explore the routing capabilities of audio interface extraordinaire Orion32+ – our 32-channel AD/DA with Thunderbolt™ and USB, the successor to the world's first 32-channel converter.
This tutorial applies to all our devices using this routing matrix. However, the number of channels and the availability of AFX instances may vary according to your device.
Orion32+ is now bringing Thunderbolt™ compatibility to the table, alongside the classic USB connectivity to whatever your DAW of choice might be. The product allows simultaneous I/O streaming of 32 channels of 24-bit, 192 kHz audio signal, while providing you with zero latency monitoring.
The entire Orion32+ control is gathered in a desktop app, both OS X and Windows compatible. The application allows you to save and switch between custom presets. Each channel in the routing matrix can be renamed or quickly muted. Routing is done through dragging and dropping channels from and to the desired destinations.
There are two main sections of the routing matrix of the software control panel – From and To. In the From section Line In stands for the 32 physical inputs of the Orion32+. There are Thunderbolt™ (TB) and USB play outputs for playback – basically the outputs of your DAW. Through the From section you are also controlling the ADAT & S/PDIF ins and the outputs from the Antelope Audio integrated software effects. Last come the four software mixer stereo outputs.
The To section gives you control over all 32 physical outputs, the user-definable monitor outs, the TB & USB Record represent the channels in your DAW. Here is also where you control the digital outputs, the in-app software effects inputs and the four software mixer inputs from.
