Der Le Morne Brabant ist ein 556 Meter hoher Berg auf der gleichnamigen Halbinsel im Südwesten von Mauritius. Der Berg ist UNESCO Weltkulturerbe und kann auf eigenes Risoko bestiegen werden. Am Eingangstor zur Wanderung muss man sich lediglich in einem Buch ein- und austragen. Der erste Teil des Weges ist recht einfach, bietet aber schon viele schöne Ausblicke auf das vorgelagerte Riff. Erst ab dem sogenannten "grünen Tor" wird der Weg beschwerlicher und irgendwann geht es dann nur noch steil den Fels hinauf.
Allein und ohne geeignete Ausrüstung sollte man da nicht raufklettern. Leider gibt es vor Ort aber viele unerfahrene Kletterer (besser gesagt Idioten) die sich dort recht unbedarft und mit ungeeigneter Ausrüstung hinaufquälen und nicht nur für sich sondern auch für andere eine Gefahr darstellen. Wegen eben dieser Leute und ungeeigneter Schuhe wurde der Weg zum Gipfel abgebrochen. Schöne Ausblicke hat man aber auch unterhalb des Gipfels.
