PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
*Screws may have become loose during shipping. Check all screws for proper tightness and apply blue thread-lock if desired. Periodically check scale 2mm bolts as they may become loose if not thread-locked.*
The following procedure has been tested with axial, rc4wd, and proline tires. If you are still having trouble mounting your tires, feel free to contact us.
Tools Required:
2mm hex wrench, the style with a large handle works best
7mm nut driver to remove old wheels and install new ones
A hard, non-scratching surface to apply downward pressure
1) Remove your wheels from the package. Disassemble wheel by removing the 8 screws on the back side.
2) Check tire beads, and areas of the wheel that contact the tire for oily residue. This residue can be removed with rubbing alcohol or other mild solvent. Residue can cause your wheels to seat improperly or slip.
3) Insert center ring into your tire. Be sure the foam inserts are not going to pinch between the tire bead and center ring.
4) Insert the outer ring of wheel into the outside of the tire. Do not worry about pressing the bead of the tire into the locking ring yet. Make sure the tire bead looks uniform all the way round the wheel.
5) Place wheel and tire face-down on a hard, non-scratching surface.
6) Place rear half of beadlock wheel onto the back of the tire. Align the screw holes between the two wheel halves. Now press the rear wheel half into the backside of the tire. Rather that pressing downward on the back of the aluminum wheel, pull the bead of the tire upward, onto the rear ring.
7) On the back of the wheel, Insert two of the screws you removed earlier on opposing sides of wheel
7) Apply uniform, downward pressure on the back of the wheel with one hand while threading in the two screws you placed into the wheel earlier. Once the two screws have been screwed in a few millimeters, you can place all of the other screws into the back of the wheel and begin the bead-seating process.
8) Slowly tighten the screws little by little, working in a clockwise manner.
9) Continue tightening screws in a clock-wise manner until both sides of the wheels are touching and the beads are fully seated.
10) Your tire beads are now fully seated. Now go out and enjoy your new beadlock wheels!
11) NOTE: If you are having trouble seating the beads, here are some helpful tips.
If you cannot get the two sides of the wheel close enough together to start the threads, you can use longer screws to begin clamping the wheel halves together. Once all other screws are threaded, remove the longer screws and replace them with the short screws the wheels came with.
You may lightly coat the beads of the tire with soapy water before beginning the mounting process. The water will provide lubrication and make it even easier to seat your tire beads.
12) NOTE: If the bead seems too loose and slips under power, clean the bead of the tires and all bead-locking surfaces with rubbing alchohol or other minor solvent. Oil or contaminants can cause your tires to slip.
