The letter Ṣaad is the 14th letter of the Arabic alphabet. It shares the same basic shape as Ḍaad (ض), except that Ḍaad has a dot above it. To pronounce Ṣaad (ص) correctly, you shift the "plain" sound of Seen (س) to a heavier, more emphatic sound. To remember its shape, compare it to a shell (Ṣadafa) that creates a sound (Ṣawt) when you hold it close to your ear.
