When in Frankfurt, be sure to visit Johann von Goethe's House (where he grew up) as well as the German Romantic Museum, which has a considerable amount of art and exhibits. Both museums will teach you about the Germany Romantic Period and the art and literature that came out of Germany during that time. It's well worth a visit.
