History and Song Index
In late 1966, Lenny was splitting his time between Winnipeg and Toronto. On New Years Eve of that year, he was in Toronto to perform on a CBC TV variety show called 'In Person'. He played his original Flamenco/Jazz composition "Taranta" (aka "Toronto") solo before segueing into a beautiful version of 'Bluesette', which he would record a few years later on his second RCA album in an extended form on his electric guitar.
The bassist and drummer backing Lenny are unknown but were likely from the Jimmy Dale Orchestra, which provided the show's music.
Also appearing on 'In Person' that night was Yvette Shaw, Lenny's close friend and musical colleague.
